Stadium capacity
Watching sports is an important part of city culture and, indeed, local identity.
London is home to a vast array of clubs and national stadiums, from football to cricket, tennis, and athletics. The capacities of the largest 20 are shown in the graphic.
Most of the big stadiums are home to football clubs, including teams in the third tier of the men’s professional leagues. This is perhaps unsurprising given football’s popularity and the large fan bases for the capital’s teams, some of which date back to the late 19th century.
