Join Centre for London, in partnership with L&Q, at this year’s Conservative Party Conference.
London’s housing crisis is well documented. After paying for housing costs, 1 in 4 Londoners live in poverty. Meanwhile, planning permissions exists for 300,000 new homes in the capital which are yet to be built. Something needs to change.
The government has now committed to build 1.5m homes by the end of this parliament. In London, this has translated to a reduction in the overall housing target, but huge changes in borough-based targets.
Our panel will bring together London policymakers and expert panellists from Centre for London and L&Q, to discuss how to tackle the challenge of housing in London, how we assess housing needs and how to meet these ambitious targets.
