Alicia Walker is Assistant Director of Advocacy and Activism at Shelter, where she leads work to influence housing and homelessness policy and to build public and political support for lasting solutions to end the housing emergency. Previously, Alicia was Head of Policy, Research and Campaigns at Centrepoint, and has held roles at HM Treasury and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, giving her a deep understanding of homelessness and housing policy, housing funding, planning and delivery. Alicia is also Chair of the Board of Directors at the Routes Collective, a social enterprise supporting refugee women to thrive in the UK.
