Making Space: Accommodating London’s industrial future

The Commission is incredibly grateful to all those who shared their time and expertise in the course of this project, including our anonymous interviewees and all those who provided feedback to the interim paper. The Commission also thanks the expert witnesses who delivered presentations at its meetings, including John Allan (Director, Industrial, Sales & Leasing, Avison Young) and Allie Piehn (Director, Studio Egret West).

In addition, the Commissioners would like to thank the London Borough of Enfield for arranging a tour of industrial sites and premises in the Upper Lea Valley area. We are particularly grateful to James Collister, Industrial Sector Development Manager; Sandra Taylor, Economic Development Officer; Im Rahman, Inward Investment and Business Support Manager; and Ed Jones, Principal Planner, for organising and leading the tour. The Commissioners deeply appreciate the efforts of the teams at Enfield Brewery and OMA X Film Studios in inviting the Commissioners to their premises and responding to their questions.

The Commission also gives thanks to colleagues at Centre for London who supported the Secretariat throughout the research process. Further, they would like to thank Jack Brown (Lecturer at King’s College London),  Richard Brown (Independent Consultant) and Ben Rogers (Professor of Practice at the University of London) for their essential role in developing the project and setting up the Commission.

Finally, this project would not have been possible without the generous support of our Principal Sponsor, SEGRO, as well as that of our Supporting Sponsors Be First (London Borough of Barking & Dagenham) and the London boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Enfield and Southwark.
