Martin is an independent transport professional with a broad range of experience in sustainable transport planning, policy and analysis. Having worked in the public sector and as a consultant at Colin Buchanan, he now works independently for a range of London and international clients. During his career, Martin has worked on GLA research into the link between accessibility and employment, TfL demand forecasting studies for cross-river links, and numerous walking and cycling projects.
Martin strives to ensure that the wider economic, social, environmental and health impacts of transport are robustly evaluated. He worked on the development of methods to appraise public realm investment, and prepared successful business cases for sustainable transport investment including some of the first to include the health benefits of active travel modes.
