Spotlight: Policing London: The Future of the Met

This event has already taken place.

Centre for London invites you to a breakfast discussion on the state of policing in London. The Met Police recently stated that crime in London was at its lowest rate in a decade, but the capital is home to six of the UK’s 10 most crime-ridden postcodes, and fear of crime continues to rise. Has the Met got the right balance between national and civic tasks, and is it working well for Londoners? Is London meeting its policing challenges, and what policies could help ensure an effective police force in our city?

This event is one of Centre for London’s Spotlight series of public breakfast discussions, each focusing on a different aspect of life in the capital and the policies shaping it. We offer the floor to experts in their field and provide the forum for those with unique insight into our city can exchange ideas with specialists and policymakers. This event is open to all.
