Connecting Tech City is a new project from Centre for London to improve the links between Tech City and local young people.
Our aim is help solve the skills shortage in tech by developing talent local to East London’s tech community.
There are many great learning initiatives emerging from Tech City – including Apps for Good, Teen Tech, Founders4Schools and Ko-Su to name but a few – but its not yet easy for young people, teachers and schools to see what’s on offer.
We aim to change that by building an online platform where all this information will be in one place. It will also make it easier for Tech City businesses to plug in and support these programmes.
Over the next few months Centre for London will host a series of co-design workshops with young people, teachers, learning programmes and tech city entreprenuers to build the platform. We will user-test as we go.
We’ll be joined by an expert panel to discuss how this can work for Tech City and East London’s communities. We’ll also hear from the latest cohort of Tech City Stars.
