Sadiq Khan

Mayor of London | Greater London Authority

Sadiq has been Mayor of London since May 2016. Prior to becoming Mayor, Sadiq was the MP for Tooting, serving as a Cabinet Minister from 2009, and as Shadow Secretary of State for Justice from May 2010. Before joining Parliament, Sadiq worked as a partner in a law firm, specialising in human rights.

In his first term as Mayor, Sadiq has introduced the world’s first Ultra Low Emission Zone to clean up London’s toxic air, frozen tube and bus fares, delivered the ‘Hopper’ bus fare, Night Tube and Night Overground services, announced the first ever City Hall programme dedicated to supporting council housing, and introduced a new Violence Reduction Unit and Young Londoners Fund to help tackle the causes of violent crime.
