Matthew Pencharz has spent the last twelve years plus working in urban sustainability. He’s currently Head of Policy at Viridor, one of the UK’s leading resource and waste management companies.
He served as London’s first Deputy Mayor for Environment & Energy under Boris Johnson, where he led the Greater London Authority’s environment, energy and sustainability work. Matthew has since consulted to companies delivering solutions to the environmental issues he faced while Deputy Mayor and most recently was Head of Policy for Voi Technology, Europe’s leading micromobility operator, in the UK, Ireland and France.
Matthew is particularly interested in sustainable transport and energy transitions. He also looks forward to working to ensure London’s young have the opportunities he had – to stop that ladder being pulled up even higher.
