Dominic Burris-North is an award-winning London Blue Badge Tour Guide who specialises in tours based on London’s connection to the Transatlantic Slave Trade, the Black Presence in Georgian London, Canary Wharf, the London Docklands and Brixton. His interest in the subject of the Transatlantic Slave Trade began with a quest to find out more about his own ancestry. On the way, he has learnt that there are many forgotten and often overlooked aspects about this tragic event, including its ongoing legacy of racism. Dominic’s tours are designed to be thought-provoking and to highlight the fundamental connection between past and present; revealing history, largely by pointing out the clues in our built-environment and by taking people to some of the spaces where that history happened. He is driven by a desire to ensure that the millions of victims who were caught up in the system of slavery are honoured and remembered.
