Danny Kruger

Senior Fellow | Legatum Institute

Danny Kruger is a senior fellow at the Legatum Institute think-tank. He worked for eight years until 2016 as a charity Chief Executive, founding and leading two organisations working respectively with prisoners and ex-offenders (Only Connect) and with children and young people (West London Zone). He now chairs these charities, as well as sitting on the boards of the Young Foundation and the social business Catch 22. Prior to his charity work he was chief speechwriter to David Cameron, chief leader writer at The Daily Telegraph, and director of research at the Centre for Policy Studies. He has an M.A. in history from Edinburgh University and a D.Phil from Oxford University. He is the author of On Fraternity: Politics beyond Liberty and Equality (Civitas, 2007). He was awarded an MBE for services to charity in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
