Claire Symonds

Claire has over 35 years local government experience and now works as a Strategic Advisor to the sector. She previously worked for five London Boroughs and was the Chief Executive of both Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge.  Her career has covered operational service management across a whole range of areas as well as strategy development, change instigation and delivery.  This has included organisation redesign and transformation.

Her career has been built around improving services and outcomes for residents and communities. This has encompassed inclusive growth, housing provision and management, social care and service transformation, but her real focus has always been on what impact has been felt on the ground, what difference has really been made to the lives of those in our communities.
