Ideas for London Salon – Winter 2013

This event has already taken place.

Especially for the festive season, we’re upping sticks to an extra special venue. Our winter Salon is heading down to St Clement’s Hospital in Mile End. Formerly a psychiatric hospital, the site is now home to the UK’s first urban land trust. Building on the success of this Summer’s Shuffle Festival curated by Mile End local Danny Boyle, this event sees the re-opening of the site for Winter Shuffle. St Clement’s is one of London’s biggest experiments in communities taking control of developing housing, workspaces and other assets at permanently affordable levels.

In-keeping with the venue, this salon is focusing on one specific issue – tackling London’s housing crisis, one idea at a time.

Given it’s the season of goodwill, this Salon will be collecting for Crisis at Christmas. Its £21.84 for a place at the Crisis at Christmas dinner table in London this year. A bit more than the price of a quality box of crackers. Donate the £21.84, or just a fiver – we’ll leave it to you, but don’t blame us when the ghost of Christmas past comes a-knocking.
