Impact on Urban Health
The places that we grow up, live and work impact how healthy we are. Urban areas, like inner-city London, have some of the most extreme health outcomes. Alongside their vibrancy and diversity sit stark health inequalities.
At Impact on Urban Health, we want to change this. We believe we can remove obstacles to good health by making urban areas healthier places for everyone to live.
One of our areas of focus is air pollution. Not only is poor air quality a public health crisis, it is a social justice issue. It affects some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, including children.
Our ten-year Health Effects of Air Pollution programme is focused on finding equitable solutions to reduce poor air quality in cities. We work with a range of organisations, including government, industry and the communities that are most affected by air pollution, ensuring any interventions and solutions work for them.
