Responding to reports that the government plan to enforce compulsory lets of retail units that have been left vacant for at least six months, Claire Harding, Research Director at Centre for London said:
“Abandoned shops are a blight on our high streets, so it’s great news that government are planning for compulsory lets of vacant units – we called for this last year in our Community Town Centres report.
